The beach at Silloth on a bleak winter's day.
No people, no sun, no sky, just a desolate landscape waiting hopefully for summer to return. A typical small English seaside beach in winter.
Detail of old barn (dry stone construction) at side of road near Hodge Close (Cumbria, United Kingdom). Printed in 'sepia' tones on cotton rag paper.
While looking somewhat like an aerial landscape, this abstracted image is really of a part of an old weathered tree trunk that has lost its bark and shows evidence of damage by burrowing insects.

abstract - make of it whatever you want! To me, a patch of cloud against a mountainside. (If you must know - a piece of decaying plywood in an abandoned slate quarry, the facing veneer almost entirely lost.)
Abstract representation of a field of poppies ... or lichen on a small section of a piece of slate in an old quarry! This image received an award for '
Excellence in Abstract Photography' in SoJie 12.
Abstract image reminiscent of a wild fire burning through a forest.
Actually a few square inches of the back of a gravestone, with colour and patterns from algae, lichen, and the remnants from ivy being pulled off the stone by the gardener.
A second version of the Dry Stone Wall image. Layered image retaining some colour but with the contrast enhancements from the processed monochrome image ( field boundary in one of the fields bordering the coast at St Bees, Cumbria, UK.)
Digital infrared image.
Trees and field picked out in a shaft of late afternoon sunlight as storm approaches.
